Franco Harris Biography
Franco Harris was a former American professional football player who played running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL). Franco Harris died on December 20, 2022, after being born on March 7, 1950. He was an NFL player. Myron Cope, a Pittsburgh sportscaster, nicknamed one of the most famous plays in professional football history “The Immaculate Reception,” and he played a key role in it.
After finishing his collegiate career with the Penn State Nittany Lions football team, he was selected thirteenth overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 1972 NFL Draft. The Steelers were his team for the first 12 seasons of his NFL career; the Seahawks were his team for the final season. In 1990, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
